Football accumulator tips for this weekend [13-14 April 2024]

The Premier League finish line is coming into sight and we have another round of fixtures to look forward to this weekend.

We have focused on five of the matches taking place on Saturday and Sunday, picking out a betting tip for each of them.

A £10 wager on our three-leg acca would pay out £49, while the same stake on our five-leg version offers a potential return of £128.33.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace: Liverpool to score in both halves (8/13)
Liverpool suffered a shock 3-0 defeat by Atalanta at Anfield in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final.

That means they will almost certainly not win that tournament, leaving the Premier League title as the only trophy still on the table for the Reds.

Liverpool have now suffered two disappointing results on the bounce following a 2-2 draw with Manchester United last weekend.

They should get back on track against Crystal Palace, though. Oliver Glasner’s team shipped four goals to Manchester City last time out and Liverpool’s attack should have plenty of joy here.

We fancy Jurgen Klopp’s team to get the job done without too much fuss on Sunday.

Manchester City vs Luton Town: Both teams to score (21/20)
Manchester City are understandably huge favourites to beat relegation-threatened Luton Town on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side were involved in a thrilling 3-3 draw with Real Madrid in midweek, but they will expect this to be a much more straightforward assignment.

Yet while City should pick up maximum points at the Etihad Stadium, do not rule out Luton finding the back of the net.

The Hatters have scored in 19 of their last 20 Premier League matches, despite their struggles against relegation.

Rob Edwards’s side have been competitive all season long and they can breach a City backline that has kept just one clean sheet in its last five top-flight games.

âš½ Back both teams to score at 21/20 with bet365 âš½

Arsenal vs Aston Villa: Over 2.5 goals (1/2)
Arsenal did not have everything their own way in a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday. That result means the Champions League quarter-final could still go either way.

The Gunners cannot afford to turn their attention to the second leg just yet, though. Aston Villa will not make Sunday’s encounter easy for them.

Unai Emery’s side have suffered a dip in form in recent months, but they are still a force to be reckoned with and their manager will be keen to pick up a positive result against his former club at the Emirates Stadium.

Led by Ollie Watkins at the top of the pitch, Villa pack a punch in attack. They will certainly have a good go against Arsenal, which should produce an entertaining game.

Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur: Newcastle or draw (4/7)
Newcastle United are targeting a place in the Europa League. They currently sit eighth and will need at least a top-seven finish to qualify.

Eddie Howe’s squad remains weakened by an injury crisis, but the Magpies are not easy to beat on home turf.

Only Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City have won at St James’ Park in 2023/24, while Newcastle have not been beaten at their headquarters in any of their last five matches there.

Tottenham Hotspur’s recent performances have not been among their strongest of the season, so we fancy Newcastle to avoid defeat in the early kick-off on Saturday.

âš½ Tip Newcastle or draw at 4/7 with bet365 âš½

Bournemouth vs Manchester United: Bournemouth to win either half (4/6)
Manchester United are sixth in the Premier League standings but, quite frankly, they are fortunate to be there.

The expected goals difference table, which compares the quality of chances a team creates with the ones it concedes, ranks United a lowly 16th, above only West Ham United, Burnley, Luton Town and Sheffield United.

That is damning for Erik ten Hag and it is the type of statistic that will give Bournemouth plenty of belief ahead of this match.

We could easily see the Cherries coming out on top, but a safer bet is to choose them to win either the first or second half.

âš½ Round things off by tipping Bournemouth to win either half at 4/6 with bet365 âš½
