For Some Reason, 90s FMV Basketball Game Slam City with Scottie Pippen Is Coming to PS5, PS4

“You rocked his world”

We live in an era where even the most obscure retro games are getting modern re-releases, including SEGA CD monstrosities like Night Trap.

And while it wasn’t panned as hard as its peers at the time, it’s crazy to see Slam City with Scottie Pippen – a first-person FMV basketball game starring the Chicago Bulls small forward – announced for the PS5 and PS4.

Due out in 2026 via Screaming Villains, the 1994 original essentially plays like an interactive movie, with the twist being you’re in a one-on-one street basketball match.

Across the campaign, you’ll take on five opponents, all presented in grainy full-motion video, including: Fingers, Juice, Mad Dog, Smash, and, of course, Scottie Pippen.

This being a Limited Run Games joint, you can expect a bunch of crazy physical editions to be announced alongside the digital release, with more information expected next year.

Personally, we’ve never played this one, but we can’t imagine it holds up beyond the most basic novelty.

Nevertheless, we’re big fans of preservation, and it’s honestly awesome to see these obscure 90s titles brought back on modern platforms.
