Former Ozzy Osbourne Band Member Shot in Vegas
Earlier this week, we reported that a private company will step up to strengthen security personnel at casinos across Las Vegas. This will be the goal of Protective Force International, a security company that recently won contracts with nearly two dozen casinos in Sin City, helping ramp up security.
Despite those efforts and the vigilance of law enforcement, incidents are not impossible, and this is precisely the case for the former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist, Jake E. Lee, who was recently shot in Las Vegas.
The Iconic Guitarist Is Expected to Recover Fully
The iconic guitarist, who is currently a part of a band he founded called Red Dragon Cartel, was reportedly shot while walking his dog. The incident with the 67-year-old music icon dates back to Tuesday, as reported by KLAS. On that night at about 2:30 AM, Lee was walking his dog around a neighborhood located approximately 10 miles off the Las Vegas Strip.
Whatās known so far is that the guitarist was shot and sustained what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital without losing consciousness and according to his publicist, is expected to fully recover from the incident. According to the publicist, the shooting was random and as attacker likely didnāt target Lee in particular.
Leeās publicist wrote in a statement: āAs the incident is under police investigation, no further comments will be forthcoming. Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time.ā
Details on the matter remain scarce. The Las Vegas Metro Police Department has already initiated an investigation into the shooting. No reports currently suggest that there is a suspect or that an individual has been arrested for the shooting.
An Iconic American Musician and Guitarist
The 67-year-old musician is well-known for his time with Ozzy Osbourne. Lee held the role of lead guitarist for the iconic band between 1982 and 1987. Later on in his career, he was also part of the recognizable heavy metal band, Badlands.
More than a decade ago, in 2013, he founded a new band called Red Dragon Cartel. The bandās debut album was released in January of the next year. After that, Red Dragon Cartel released its second album in 2018 called Patina.
