Fortnite Halloween Skins – The 13 Best Spooky Skins

What are the best Fortnite Halloween Skins? Over all the Fortnitemares we’ve seen some really interesting additions to the Item Shop.

Fortnite skins are a huge part of the game’s appeal, with a look to match any occasion. Over Halloween though, there’s a specific type of skin that gets more play. Fortnite Halloween Costumes and skins.

Fortnite Halloween skins have been around since some of the earliest days of the game. However, over the last 7 years, we’ve seen a ton of different outfits added.

Once Fortnitemares updates hit and players start to gravitate towards the horror Creative map codes, you might want an outfit that fits. These are our picks for the best Fortnite Halloween skins:

Best Fortnite Halloween Skins
1. Skull Trooper

One of the first Fortnite Halloween skins was Skull Trooper. This isn’t just one of the most iconic Fortnite characters, but one of the oldest. In design, it’s very simple compared to the wacky Fortnite collab skins we currently get.

Skull Trooper is a a Jonesy, wearing classic Jonesy outfits, but painted like a skeleton. It’s been sprayed over his entire body for a nice simple Fortnite Halloween costumes.

Skull Trooper’s simplicity comes from its age. It’s one of the first few characters added to the item shop, skins. After he was re-added to the store the year after the first release, he got a special variant which is only for those OGs. It’s one of the most recognizable Fortnite skins and great for Halloween.

2. Ghoul Trooper

Along with Skull Trooper, Ghoul Trooper is another simple take for Fortnite Halloween. It’s a standard trooper default, but they’re a zombie.

Chapter 1’s early days kept things simple. But there’s something cool about the simplicity here.

If you want Fortnite Halloween costumes that stick to the game’s roots, Ghoul Trooper is a great choice. It’s not up there in the rarest Fortnite skins like Skull Trooper is, but it’s just as fun and great as Fortnite Halloween skins.

3. Brainiac

Brainiac is another quite simple take, this time from 2018’s Halloween. It’s Jonesy as a zombie, fairly basic. Like Ghoul Trooper these are more Halloween costumes for skins than something entirely separate.

4. Straw Ops

Another skin to go with Hay Man, both are different types of scarecrows. They’re actually quite useful for camouflage in some farm areas of the map. Great for unique strats to win Fortnite games or use in farming sim creative maps.

5. Plague and Scourage
Some of the coolest Fortnite Halloween skins. These two are plague doctors.

Notably, they went missing from the item shop for quite a few years during COVID. They’ve been back regularly since though. Their time outside of rotation is an interesting quirk of Fortnite’s history though.

6. Skull Ranger

Sometimes, Fortnite’s original characters can take on a life of their own. Become so popular as icons of the game, fans clamor for their return. This happened with our two OG Fortnite Halloween skins.

These two extra skins are re-styles of the very first two Fortnite Halloween costumes. Just, now in gold. A good excuse to bring back a much-wanted skin to the game.

7. Spooky Team Leader

The Cuddle Team Leader has always been a favorite for Fortnite fans. This is the first Halloween version of the character, a king of ghoul-ified Team Leader character. Maybe this is one version of the character that we should be happy doesn’t have a removable head.

8. Halloween Fortnite Skins – The Final Reckoning Pack

These three round out the 2019 offerings. There’s a spooky ghost woman, a more modern interpretation of Skull Trooper’s DIY outfit, and a Day of the Dead-inspired skin.  These three came in a single pack!

These packs are always better value, and great if you want multiple Fortnite Halloween costumes at once.

9. Peely Bone

One of the best Fortnite Halloween skins is Peely Bone. A great version of the classic Fortnite NPC. This banana has half rotted, revealing not a man in a suit, but a bizarre cross-section of banana man inners.

Peely is one of the characters who gets loads of varieties. He’s been a secret agent, a superhero, frozen, it makes sense he’d be included in Fortnite Halloween costumes too. This one can be a little graphic in its depiction of biology too. He’s a little older but still one of the most recognizable Fortnite Halloween skins.

10. Hemlock

Out of the Fortnite Halloween skins, this is the first one that’s a Witch! It’s strange they took so long to do this basic Halloween costume, but fits with the Witch’s Broom Fortnite item too.

11. Ash

There’s been tons of crossovers with other franchises for Halloween, but Ash is a unique one. The lead character from Evil Dead, Ash isn’t the most obvious collab for a Fortnite Halloween skin.

It’s a series of movies that while fantastic, might not appeal too much to Fortnite’s core audience. Hopefully, this crossover Halloween costume introduced some people to the classic movies too.

12. Jack Skellington

One of the best Fortnite Halloween skins from recent years is Jack Skellington! In one skin, you can get set up for Halloween and for the Christmas period after.

Jack is one of the more unique-looking characters we’ve ever had put into Fortnite. With his unique emotes too, Jack is hard to miss in any lobby.

His proportions have had some changes to fit the game’s standard character size. However, he’s still a striking skin. Pretty unique in the game.

13. Michael Myers

Another recent addition is Michael Myers. The slasher was added alongside Jack Skellington in a couple of odd collabs last Halloween.

Michael Myers is definitely one of the most adult franchises ever represented in Fortnite. The skin is well-designed too, getting all the menace of the character in the game. He’s a great fit for playing over Halloween.

New Fortnite Halloween Costumes
Those are some of the best Fortnite Halloween skins! Not all of these come back to the item shop every year.

However, Epic is always designing new looks for players. You’re sure to find a Fortnite Halloween skin you like over the Fortnitemares period. This year we’re expecting even more new collab skins too.
