Fortnite Weapons Tier List – Best Remix Weapons
What are the best Fortnite Remix weapons? There are tons of returning Chapter 2 items, but the Fortnite weapons tier list is very different to what we’re used to.
Fortnite’s taking a trip back to the past this month with Chapter 5 concluding and moving to a re-visit of Fortnite Chapter 2. We’ve known about this for some time, but getting hands on and checking out all those old Fortnite Chapter 2 weapons does feel different.
It’s great to head back over to your favorite Fortnite Remix landing spot and try to track down your old loadout. The tools that got you win after win, before the days of 70% bot lobbies in pubs.
Fortnite’s moved on though. The meta has evolved. Your average player is sweatier, more skilled, and generally less willing to mess around. Just because the game is back to Chapter 2, it doesn’t mean the skill level is. Nor are the rankings in a Fortnite weapons tier list.
Add to that, all the changes that have been made. Remix isn’t Chapter 2, although some of the best Fortnite weapons are common to both.
If you want to get every advantage you can get, you’ll want to use the best Fortnite Remix guns. What’s available and where do each of the weapons sit in a Fortnite Remix Tier list?
Best Fortnite Remix Weapons
S Tier – Best Fortnite Weapons
Suppressed Assault Rifle
The Suppressed is always a fun addition to the loot pool. This gun is the great base version of the Fortnite Assault Rifle, but with the added benefit of being quieter.
Compared to Chapter 2, we’ve now got some of the best Fortnite settings like on-screen audio basically on for everyone. This means weapons like that that cut down on noise and giving your spot away can be even more important.
Heavy Sniper Rifle
The Heavy Sniper is back! Unlike the Chapter 5 version, this one is properly balanced. It’s still one of the best Fortnite weapons though. It can kill very quickly.
Given its sheer stopping power, it would be hard to put this much lower in the Fortnite weapons tier list. It might not have the 5 shots that Chapter 5’s dead or the speed. However, the base version has always been a very useful gun to carry.
Pump Shotgun
The Pump isn’t the OG original version, but even in Chapter 2, this was a solid choice. Much more consistent than the tac and with the ability to do real damage.
The Pump shotgun is the must-carry for close range out of the Fortnite Remix weapons. It’ll be nice to have it back after so long with the Hammer Pump too. It makes you remember why the Pump is the go to.
Rocket Launcher
The Rocket Launcher is a weapon that lit things up back in Fortnite OG last year, and it looks quite interesting for Fortnite Remix weapons too.
It does great splash damage at over 110 per rocket. Then switch over to something like an AR or pump for an easy kill. In builds, it’s great for countering boxing. In Zero Builds, they have nowhere to hide from Rockets.
The Rocket Launcher is one of the best weapons. It’s in heavy supply too, so it shouldn’t be too hard to track down. Chests are dropping them, vaults, even supply drops spewing out three at a time. They’re everywhere.
Grappler
The Grappler is back, with 20 uses per gun. This is fantastic. The best mobility right now.
Even the returning older cars can’t outrun a grappler. There’s neat tech with grappling to rockets too. Loads of ways to get around the map much quicker.
What’s fun about this is that uses reset whenever you switch. If you drop and switch with a teammate, you’ll both get a full 20 again. Essentially you only need to find 1 more grappler in a game, uses don’t carry from player to player.
It might not be the rocket shoes and hover jets like last season, but a more basic mobility is still pretty useful.
A Tier – Fortnite Weapons Tier List
Tactical Shotgun – Good if you can’t handle the pump, but pretty much always the second choice.
Burst Assault Rifle – Fine. Doesn’t feel as good as it used too, mainly because we had a fantastic burst last season. But very accurate and great in some situations.
Assault Rifle – A good AR. Its bloom might be annoying off the back of more recent guns. It’s a decent weapon in any rarity though.
Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle – Closer to the DMR than a traditional sniper, but can suit those without the aim to take advantage of the Heavy.
Boogie Bombs – Great to have back, always fun.
Drum Gun – The Drum Gun is still doing a lot better than its updated version! It’s a solid weapon, but not a must-carry.
Impulse Grenades – Not as useful as shocks, but decent for mobility. Also good if you can nab the always hilarious fall damage kill by using them offensively.
B Tier – Best Fortnite Weapons
Dual Pistols – Better than the old pistol, but still not good enough to be classified much higher.
Rapid Fire SMG – Not a great SMG. Not much point carrying it either when other weapons are better even at close range.
Stink Bombs – A surprising addition, great for busting players out of box fights. Even better than they were originally, since the materials cap is so much lower now box fights are more common.
C Tier
Clingers – Too random. Not a patch on the cluster version we’ve had in the last Chapter.
Remote Explosives – Far too circumstantial. It’s extremely rare to be in a situation where this works. Great for meme plays, not much else.
Pistol – We’ve been spoilt with decent base pistols lately, the original version isn’t great.
That’s how it all works out. It’s fun to revisit this part of the game. The update schedule looks like we’ll be cycling through a few seasons over the next couple of weeks. These weapons will change how the game plays each week.
Keep an eye out for Fortnite news to see how the loot pool changes will affect things. The best Fortnite weapons could be completely different by the end of Remix.
