Florida State’s early-season woes continued on Monday.
The No. 10 Seminoles faced another upset following their loss to Georgia Tech in their season-opener, this week losing to Boston College 28-13 at home.
After an undefeated regular season a year ago that saw Florida State fall just short of reaching the College Football Playoff, competing for a championship this season already seems like a lost cause.
Quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, who transferred from Oregon State to Florida State this offseason, struggled once against. While he had 272 passing yards and a touchdown, he failed to capitalize several times in the red zone and threw an interception in the third quarter that led to Boston College taking a 21-6 lead. He was also inefficient in his passing, completing just 21 of his 42 attempts.

But it wasn’t just Uiagalelei struggling against the Eagles, the defense was to blame too as it gave up 263 rushing yards.
After the Seminoles’ nightmare start to the season persisted on Monday, fans blasted head coach Mike Norvell and Uiagalelei on social media.
Jalen Ramsey @jalenramsey… smh State sad rn
Denton Day (D-Day) @TheDentonDayThe fall off from Jordan Travis to DJU is the biggest fall off in college football since the fall off from Trevor Lawrence to DJU.

Max Chadwick @MaxChadwickCFBOregon State was able to mask DJ’s deficiencies because they were able to kick everyone’s ass with their offensive line and Damien Martinez.
DJU would then win off play-action when defenses stacked the box.
Florida State cannot do that.

Molly @FSUmollzI’m not being dramatic when I say DJ Uiagalelei is the worst quarterback I’ve ever watched play American Football
Rodger Sherman @rodgerOh so you won’t let Florida State into the playoff if they win every game? Well what if they LOSE every game? What then? You still won’t let them in? Ok yeah I guess that makes sense
Nicole Auerbach @NicoleAuerbachIt has not helped Florida State that both of its first two games were the only game on television in its window.
We allllll can see this.
Katie Pondiscio @kpondiscioFlorida State really spent their entire off season complaining and suing, and forgot to practice any football

Didn’t have that one on the bingo card coming into the season.
After missing out on the CFP last year, Florida State sued the ACC in hopes of getting out of the conference and into a more competitive one like the SEC or Big Ten. After losing to two ACC teams in their first two games, that decision has now backfired on the Seminoles.
Now 0-2, Florida State will spent its bye week searching for answers on how to turn a disastrous start to the season around. But things don’t get much easier when the Seminoles return to action on Sept. 14, as they’ll take on a strong Group of Five team, Memphis.
Based on their ranking coming into the year, the Seminoles should be undefeated and flying high. Instead, they have two losses and head into their bye week demoralized.
