Buchanan, MI RedBudAMA Pro Motocross Championship The following press release is from GasGas:
INJURY SIDELINES ROCKSTAR ENERGY GASGAS FACTORY RACING’S Casey Cochran FOR 2025 MOTOCROSS SEASON
SCHEDULED TO UNDERGO SHOULDER SURGERY FOLLOWING A QUALIFYING CRASH AT SOUTHWICK
-Crash during 250MX qualifying at Round 5 resulted in shoulder injury
-Scheduled to undergo surgery on ligament damage next week
-Casey’s outdoor season has unfortunately been cut short while he recovers
Cochran suffered a dislocated shoulder during the second qualifying session at the Southwick National. Earlier that day, he had posted the ninth-fastest time in opening practice, showcasing the speed and progression he’s demonstrated all season long.
Following further medical evaluation earlier this week, it was confirmed that the injury included ligament damage that will require surgical repair. Recovery timelines are expected to keep him off the bike for the remainder of the 2025 motocross season.
Sean Murphy, Rockstar Energy GASGAS Factory Racing Team Manager:
“It’s a tough break for Casey, especially after the adversity he’s already battled with the injury he sustained prior to Supercross. He’s shown incredible determination, and we were looking forward to getting a full outdoor season under his belt, but Casey is an extremely determined rider and we’re confident he will put in the work to get back on the bike as soon as he can.”
Cochran’s Pro Motocross campaign began with a promising comeback from a broken femur that had ruled him out of the 2025 AMA Supercross season. Despite limited time on his GASGAS MC 250F in the lead-up, he quickly made a mark outdoors in scoring two top 10 finishes across the opening four rounds, but his breakout ride came in Round 2 at Hangtown where he led five laps of Moto 1 and grabbed the holeshot in Moto 2.
The entire Rockstar Energy GASGAS Factory Racing team extends its support to Casey and looks forward to his return upon his recovery.
