Gates Wide Open? Fast Life Yungstaz Says Taylor Swift Is Welcome To Remix ‘Swag Surfin’ (Video)
Fast Life Yungstaz (F.L.Y.) is welcoming Taylor Swift and her ‘Swag Surfin’ efforts! Mook says “everything is up” since Swift went viral while dancing to the song at an NFL game.
“My initial reaction to Taylor Swift swag surfing was I thought it was dope. I automatically knew it was going to be a good look just because of who she is, you know what I’m saying, what she got going on,” Mook Man said.
Speaking to TMZ, Mook revealed the group’s streams have been up 700 percent since mid-January. The song has had its viral moments since F.L.Y. released it in 2009. It spent eight weeks on Billboard’s Top 100 chart that year, peaking at 71. As of Feb 2. the YouTube video has over 9.6 million views, compared to four million in August 2017, per Tampa Bay Times.
Offline and charts aside, ‘Swag Surfin’ is rooted in Black culture at Black functions among Black people. Born and bred in Atlanta. Always on the playlist at the cookouts, graduation parties, family reunions, Divine Nine picnics, birthdays, nightclubs…it’s an anthem and a bond.
But Mook says the Swifties’ impact on the streams has been the biggest yet. On YouTube, Mook says their subscribers increased by 20,000 in two weeks. For him, watching everything unfold so quickly has been a “dope thing.”

Easton Jokes About Taylor Swift Rapping On The ‘Swag Surfin’ Remix
TMZ tapped the whole group for their thoughts on the Taylor moment. F.L.Y’s McFly and Vee were on and featured artist Easton. In the interview, Easton clarified that he’s never officially been a part of F.L.Y. He’s more like a brother, and together, they hopped in the booth and cooked up ‘Swag Surfin.’
Easton joked that Taylor “gotta rap, though.” He wants to “hear them bars.” McFly and Mook agreed, laughing it up!
“When it went viral it was like, okay, Taylor Swift. It’s up. It’s like one of them moments you been waiting on,” McFly said.
Taylor Swift has not confirmed whether she wants to hop on the “biggest song” to come out of Atlanta,” per the group.
Maybe we’ll find out during Black History Month? If you ask Black Twitter, some are here for it, and others are definitely not.
