Genesis Invitational 2024: UK tee times, field, live commentary and how to follow as Tiger Woods prepares for first PGA Tour event of 2024

Tiger Woods will be the headline attraction at the Genesis Invitational as he prepares to play in his first PGA Tour event of 2024, and it’s live on talkSPORT 2.

The American superstar has endured a tough time since suffering a leg injury in a horrific car crash in 2021 and is currently planning to play one event a month this year.

However, he won’t be the only star name, with a host of the world’s best set to tee it up at Riviera.

Rory McIlroy will be there along with several Ryder Cup stars, including Viktor Hovland and Tommy Fleetwood.

Jon Rahm won this event last year, but he won’t be in action following his controversial decision to join LIV Golf.

Genesis Invitational 2024: Date and how to follow
This tournament gets underway on Thursday, February 15 and ends on Sunday, February 18.

Play is due to start each day at 3pm UK time.

Genesis Invitational 2024: Course information
The Riviera Country Club in LA is one of the most iconic on the PGA Tour.

Most read in Golf

It is ranked as one of the top 50 golf courses in the world and inside the best 25 in the USA.

It has also been selected as the venue for golf at the 2028 Olympics, so you can see why it’s held in such high regard.

The course measures 7,322 yards in length and is par 71.

It features the iconic 10th hole, a classic risk and reward short par 4 which always provides fireworks.

Genesis Invitational 2024: Field and tee times
The Genesis Invitational is a ‘Signature event’ this season, meaning it will have a limited field.

But, unlike the recent Pebble Beach Pro-am, there will be a cut at Riviera.

As well as Woods and McIlroy, the likes of Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth and Max Homa will be in action.

Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris have been added tournament exemptions.

Genesis Invitational 2024: What has been said?
Woods feels he is now over the worst of his injury issues and the 15-time Major champion is looking forward to getting back on the tour.

However, he isn’t going to overdo it this year.

Speaking to NBC in December 2023, he said: “I think I’ve come a long way.

“From being a little bit rusty to playing four days and knocked off a lot of rust which was great, and just the physicality of actually playing and competing again – I haven’t done this in a while.

“Once a month seems reasonable. It gives me a couple of weeks to recover, a week to tune up. Maybe I can get into a rhythm. That’s what the plan was going into next year and I don’t see why that would change.”
