GloRilla’s rise to fame is nothing short of impressive. On Tuesday (Sept. 3), the Collective Music Group artist posted a 2021 throwback photo of herself wearing a ski mask while in the studio. The original caption read, “Knockin’ features out. Tap in.”

The “Yeah Glo!” rapper also shared that her feature price used to be a lot lower. “This was back when y’all swore me charging $500 for features was too much,” she revealed on her Instagram Story.

Prior to her breakout success with 2022’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” GloRilla unloaded two projects. Her debut mixtape, Most Likely Up Next, was released in 2019 and spanned nine songs, including “Steph Curry,” “GMFU” with frequent collaborator K Carbon, and a remix of King Von’s “Crazy Story.” Meanwhile, 2020’s P Status contained tracks like “Poppin” and the Gloss Up-assisted “Paid.”

In her ELLE cover story, GloRilla shared that she decided to take a different approach to her music in 2021. “When I first came out rapping, I was trying to sound like a little girl. I was saying some hard s**t, but just in a little girly-a** voice. It was me trying to change my sound because I have a naturally deeper voice. I was kind of embarrassed because I wanted to sound like a girl,” she explained. “That’s when I first changed my sound. That’s the year my voice started getting deeper and deeper.”

Since becoming one of Hip Hop’s leading ladies, the Memphis, Tennessee talent has worked with several artists. In 2022, she appeared on Ciara’s “Better Thangs (Remix)” and Latto’s “FTCU.” The following year, she delivered guest verses on tracks like Don Toliver’s “Leave the Club,” G Herbo’s “Outside” and FendiDa Rappa’s “In The Trunk,” to name a few.

As for 2024, GloRilla teamed up with BossMan Dlow and Real Boston Richey for “Finesse (Remix)” and “Get In There,” respectively. She also reunited with Megan Thee Stallion for June’s “Accent.”
