“Good team spirit” – Super Eagles winger delighted about Milan’s victory against Udinese
Super Eagles and AC Milan right winger, Samuel Chukwueze, was delighted after his side sealed a 1-0 win against Udinese at the San Siro, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old returned to the Milan starting lineup for the first time since August and made his impact thirteen minutes into the game, opening his goalscoring account for the season.
Noah Okafor charged down the left with intent before playing a pass into Christian Pulisic. The USMNT captain then safely passed the ball into Chukwueze’s path, and the ex-Villareal man safely cushioned the ball into the bottom corner of Maduka Okoye’s goal.
Speaking after the game, the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner revealed his side’s win against Udinese is a step in the right direction in achieving their goals for the season.
“It was very nice. It was a good game for the team. We defended well, and the team spirit was good. We needed this win. Now, we focus on Tuesday’s game. It’s a very good feeling to score and win this game. I think it’s very important for us, the coach, and our confidence, so we need to push for more targets,” Chukwueze told DAZN as revealed by Milan Posts.
The hosts were without Portuguese superstar, Rafael Leao and played majority of the game with 10-men after Tijjani Reijnders received a straight red card for a foul on Sandi Lovric in the 29th minute.
Paulo Fonseca’s side will play against Belgian side, Club Brugge, in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
