Gori Cuddly Carnage Preview – A Unicorn Slayer

We had the chance to preview Gori Cuddly Carnage, a new game in which we play as a unicorn-killing cat. Said like this it may seem misleading, but the game is actually very good and fun. In this Gori Cuddly Carnage preview, therefore, we will tell you everything you should know, so that you can consider purchasing him.

Become A Cat
Gori Cuddly Carnage is certainly not the first game that puts us in the shoes of a cat. Many, surely, will remember the recent Stray which also put us in the shoes of a cat. However, here we are faced with a completely different game. Although the setting is futuristic here too, the game mechanics are different.

Since this is a preview, we cannot talk to you in detail about everything we had the opportunity to try, also because the game is still in development. As a result, there may be some things that will change once the game is released. But we can certainly tell you what our first impressions are and we would like to tell you that they are more than positive.

Taking on the role of Gori, the protagonist of the game, is certainly something fun and unconventional. The game is structured into different levels that we should complete, with different difficulty levels to choose from (the higher one will only be unlocked at the end). At the end of each level, we will have a summary of what we have done and our statistics, a bit like what happens in stylish or rhythm games.

The task of this sweet kitten is to save his owner by making his way through hordes of demonic unicorns (how did the developers think of such an idea?). Furthermore, as if that weren’t enough, the usual boss fights against more powerful enemies that mark the end of a given level certainly cannot be missing.

Your Skateboard Is Your Best Friend
What you need to know is that Gori will not be alone in his adventure, in addition to a sort of artificial intelligence, he will be accompanied by a skateboard during his adventure. This skateboard, in addition to being able to speak (in a very comical tone), is essential to allow Gori to move between the various areas and kill the hordes of unicorns.

As you progress through the adventure, you will also be able to purchase upgrades that will allow you to become increasingly powerful and be able to face the threats of the game more comfortably. Obviously, these upgrades aren’t free, so you’ll need to have the right amount of resources to get them.

Gori Cuddly Carnage is, therefore, a game that mixes different features within it: you will have to do a bit of platforming, you will be able to kill hordes of enemies… But we assure you that the formula studied by the developers is certainly successful! Gori Cuddly Carnage is a fun, crazy game that wants to break the mold also for the situations and dialogues it offers.

From the first minutes of the game you immediately understand how the developers wanted to greatly emphasize the ironic aspect of the game. For those who have had the opportunity to play High on Life, they will certainly find similarities in this approach, as well as between Gori’s skatboard and the weapons that players have the opportunity to take up in High on Life.

All this, enriched by a graphic style and a highly respectable sound sector. The graphic style, very similar to a comic, is certainly a good choice that goes perfectly with the game itself. The same also applies to the music that accompanies the game in different situations. We can’t help but highlight the excellent work the developers are doing up to this point.

Since this is a preview, we cannot give a rating to what we had the opportunity to try, also because it would not be correct. Let’s just give a general opinion which, for the moment, is very positive. If your dream has always been to play a cat that exterminates demonic unicorns, Gori Cuddly Carnage is definitely the game for you!
