
Guangzhou Announces Temporary Traffic Rules for National Games
Guangzhou has rolled out temporary traffic control measures for the 15th National Games (November 6–20) and the National Para Games & Special Olympics (December 5–14).
The temporary measures will be in effect for a combined 25 active days over a 39-day window from November 6 to December 14.

The restricted area covers much of Tianhe, Yuexiu, Haizhu (north), and Baiyun (west) districts, enclosed by: Daguan Road · Guangshan Road · Shenyang-Haikou Expressway · Guangzhou Ring Expressway · Pearl River Waterway (refer to the beige area in the map).
Restricted VehiclesNon-Guangzhou CarsSmall passenger vehicles not registered in Guangzhou, i.e., non-粤A plates, are barred from entering the restricted zones during control hours.
Odd-Even RuleLocal small passenger vehicles registered in Guangzhou, i.e., 粤A plates, will follow an odd-even plate policy.
Odd plates (1, 3, 5, 7, 9): odd-numbered dates
Even plates (0, 2, 4, 6, 8): even-numbered dates
Control Hours7.30am–7.30pm daily
*Extended to midnight on November 9 and December 8, on the opening ceremony days.
Truck BanTruck access to major expressways will be temporarily restricted, especially on November 9, the National Games opening day.
Control HoursHeavy Trucks7am–10pm daily
*Control hours extended to midnight on November 9 and restricted vehicles extended to medium trucks.
ExemptionsEmergency, public service, postal, school, and official Games vehicles are exempt.
Vehicles with diplomatic or consular license plates, temporary entry plates, or Hong Kong and Macao cross-border plates are also exempt.
Grace PeriodWarnings only for first violations on all restricted vehicles: November 6–8 and December 5–7.
