Hannah Waddingham Shared the Most Stunning Photos as She Got Ready for the SAG Awards

Hannah Waddingham is quite simply a showstopper. Whether she’s walking a red carpet, performing on stage, or dancing in a track suit, the Emmy and SAG award-winning actor commands attention not just for her superb theatrical talent, but for her charisma, charm, and undeniable presence.

That winning combination was out in full force at the 30th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 24, where the beloved Brit was nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series, as well as outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series, for her role as Rebecca Welton on Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso. Although the wins in both categories went to actors from The Bear, Waddingham was the talk of the night, thanks to her Tony Ward sculptural red foil couture gown and one-of-a-kind cardboard clutch designed by her nine-year-old daughter.

“My daughter contributed my evening bag for the night ’cause the evening’s going to be epic!” Waddingham told Glamour’s senior West Coast editor, Jessica Radloff, on the silver carpet. “Look at it! She’s nine years old, and there was a spare bit of cardboard in the house. Look at the rainbow detail! It’s a one-love evening bag.”

The sustainably made clutch was the perfect accompaniment to Waddingham’s “bespoke beautifulness” Tony Ward gown, as she called it. Waddingham’s stylist, James Yardley, tells Glamour that he and Waddingham were guests of Ward’s at the couture collections in Paris where the dress was specifically chosen for the SAG Awards.

The gown was powerful, celebratory, and feminine, which set the tone for Waddingham’s final SAG Awards show as a Ted Lasso nominee. (This was the last year the show was eligible, as creator Jason Sudeikis has pretty much indicated that it’s over—for now).
