‘He was very disappointed’ – Frank Warren explains why Derek Chisora headbutted delivery rider in viral video
Legendary promoter Frank Warren has attempted to explain Derek Chisora’s viral altercation with a Deliveroo rider.
The former heavyweight title challenger, who is set to face Joe Joyce on July 27, was recently caught on camera headbutting a delivery driver during a furious row.

Warren, who will promote their clash at London’s O2 Arena, attempted to dissect the altercation during an appearance on Tuesday’s episode of talkSPORT Drive.
“I saw it yesterday morning,” he said about Chisora’s viral scuffle.
“I wasn’t too sure what happened at the time, but I looked at it and I could see a row was going on.

The 72-year-old has since had a conversation with Chisora, who is gutted about what happened, but adamant it was caused by the deliveryman.
Warren added: “Yeah, he was very disappointed it all happened.
“Apparently, they were eating and the guy caused a little bit of an issue.

They say all publicity is good publicity, but Warren doesn’t like to see anyone squabbling in the street – especially someone who is supposed to be training for Joyce.

“It’s not a good thing for anybody, whether it’s a boxer, footballer or someone who works in the bank,” Warren remarked.
“I mean, who wants to see that on the street? Nobody.”
As far as Warren is aware, Chisora won’t be facing any criminal charges for his actions, which he believes were clearly in self-defence.
“Just look at the video,” Warren concluded. “You’ll see the bloke comes to him and starts pushing his fist out and Derek did what he did. He was with his kids.
“That was it as far as I understand. It is what is now. It’s all over. The police were called. Nothing happened. They didn’t arrest him or the delivery driver.”
Warren is already looking beyond Chisora’s out-of-ring troubles and towards his fight with Joyce, which is high stakes as the loser will be done competing at world level.
“It’s on and I’m looking forward to it,” he insisted.
“It’s quite an interesting fight. I said a couple of years ago I felt that Derek should be retiring, so he’s going to be able to prove me wrong and we’ll see who’s right.
