Jordan Chiles may yet get some respite out of her troubles. Being at the center of the controversy that’s sweeping across the gymnastics community these past few days, the 23-year-old UCLA Bruins star isn’t having the best time of her life right now. Just yesterday, celebrity rapper Flavor Flav promised to gift a bronze clock necklace to the gymnast. With all eyes on Chiles at the moment, it looks like the singer is here to follow up on his words in the most spectacular way possible.

Jordan’s mother Gina responded to Flavor’s gift with elation. “Thank you. Means the world,” wrote the gymnast’s mother. Mentioning how her daughter has distanced herself from the fiasco that’s raging across social media, Gina also promised to take the news to Jordan in hopes of giving her something to look forward to. However, while her well-wishers are bringing out the big guns to help Chiles overcome her plight, it would be a formidable challenge trying to erase the memory of the things that transpired in the French capital over the last week.

The Chiles clan is enraged at the authoritiesChiles scored a solid 13.666 in the women’s floor exercise in the City of Love, landing in fifth place on the scoreboard. However, her coach Cecile Landi raised an inquiry notifying the judges that they missed scoring the star for the Gogean she performed. After the score was adjusted to 13.766, Chiles rose to third position, overtaking Romania’s Ana Barbosu, who was already on the podium with her national flag. However, just five days after the drama, more theatrics were waiting. The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) opined that the inquiry was raised beyond the designated time period for an appeal, and therefore, void of merit.

FIG also confirmed the suggestion and Chiles was directed to hand over her bronze medal. While USA Gymnastics and its Romanian counterpart agreed to share the medal, the IOC made it clear that Jordan had to forego her haul. Naturally, she was devastated by the news and her family members took to social media to slam the verdict. Jazmin, Jordan’s sister alleged that her sibling was a victim of racism and vowed to help the latter in every way possible. Gina was also furious over the matter and stated, “My daughter is a highly decorated Olympian with the biggest heart and a level of sportsmanship that is unmatched. And she’s being called disgusting things,” according to a report by NBC New York.

While Jordan’s emotions are justified, Flav’s step to help the wound heal will be a much-needed break for the gymnast and her family. What do you think? Share with us!
