Helldivers 2 Player Count Is 2x More Than During Launch Week (Close to 334K)

The Helldivers 2 Player Count has been on the rise for some time now and reached almost 2x that of its launch week. 

Despite some of the Helldivers 2 matchmaking issues and some of the other problems addressed before, the game continues to gain new players. Following our most recent inspection, the Helldivers2 player count has reached more than 330,000 active players on Steam. These numbers are insane because during the launch week, the player count in Helldivers 2 was “only” 150K.

Helldivers 2 Player Count – On the Rise
At the time of writing this article, the Helldivers 2 player count in terms of the 24-hour peak is close to 334K, according to trackers that show the players in Steam. We need to remember, however, that this game is also available on PlayStation 5. Therefore, it’s probably not surprising that Arrowhead Games, the company behind Helldivers 2, said that there were more than 1M active players last week.

These numbers are really impressive because Helldivers 2 managed to outperform a lot of other big titles. Destiny 2, for example, had around 316K, whereas Starfield brought 330K.

Having such a high Helldivers 2 player count means that people like the game. The problem is that the high number of players often leads to many different problems. A lot of people follow the Helldivers 2 server status because there are often problems with the servers.

Speaking of servers, our team has noticed that some players often have to wait in queue to get to play. There have also been issues with the missions, the Major Order, and many other aspects. The good news is that the team behind Helldivers 2 is working hard to resolve all issues, which is why there are constant updates.

In order to make up for the server problems and the fact that some people can’t log in, Arrowhead increased the XP from the requisition rewards by 50% for this weekend. Ironically, this brought in even more players, which made logging in even harder.

The future
It will be interesting to see what will happen with the Helldivers 2-player count once the game is out of its “honeymoon phase”. Usually, most games lose up to 50% or even more of their active players. 

Those of you who haven’t given Helldivers 2 a try can do that by purchasing the game for $39.99. There’s no arguing it will be one of the best games for PC in 2024.
