“He’s Way Out There” – Ex-UFC Insider Makes a Confession on Joe Rogan’s Uncanny Off-Camera Personality

A prominent name synonymous with the UFC is that of Joe Rogan. As good as he is as a commentator in mixed martial arts, the 57-year-old has a vested interest in a range of topics outside of fighting, which is apparent during his multi-million-dollar podcast when the camera’s rolling. But how is Rogan when the cameras are not pointed at him? Well, one of his former commentating colleagues claims there isn’t much of a difference.

It’s not a secret that Joe Rogan is one of the longest-tenured UFC employees. He has been a constant presence in the broadcast team since 1997 and has witnessed many of his peers come and go. Among those former commentating partners, Mike Goldberg stands out as the most prominent one, famous for his one-liner, “It is all over.”

Recently, Goldberg made an appearance on Dodge Woodall‘s YouTube podcast, where he revealed a bit about Joe Rogan’s off-camera personality, claiming, “He’s way out there.” But what does that mean? Well, Mike Goldberg recalled spending time with Rogan back when they were still co-workers. While mentioning his extensive knowledge about a variety of topics, as we’ve mentioned already, Goldberg claims that some of the conversations the 57-year-old would bring up would go right over his head.

“There were conversations at dinners which, you know, five minutes in, I didn’t understand a word,” said Mike Goldberg. “But he’s always straight talking, always well educated on the subjects on which he discusses.”

The conversations with Joe Rogan sometimes made Mike Goldberg so uncomfortable that he’d end up requesting the 57-year-old to just let him stick to what the UFC pays him to do. “It got like, you know, ‘I just play hockey and talk about guys and girls in their underwear, fighting in a cage, Joe. Like, don’t confuse me here’,” Golberg added.

Well, Mike Goldberg seems to have a high opinion of Joe Rogan, but guess what? The case is the same for Joe Rogan, who once penned a heartwarming message following his departure from the UFC.

I may or may not be drunk on a plane right now, feeling sentimental,” Joe Rogan wrote on Facebook. While the 57-year-old continues to be the main voice of the UFC’s commentary team, Mike Goldberg is now working as a commentator in BYB Extreme Fighting Series and ProBox TV.
