Horrific Aburi accident claims one life

A 61-year-old man has died in a terrible accident in Aburi, Eastern Region.

The unfortunate incident occurred around noon on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, when a tipper truck driver, veered off the road.

The vehicle with the registration number GT 3678-18, was carrying quarry dust and had two passengers on board.

The accident happened near the Aburi Total filling station as the truck descended a hill toward a newly developed community.

The driver, Michael Asinyo, lost control of the steering wheel, causing the truck to tip over onto its passenger side.

The companion, also identified as George Amoah, sustained fatal injuries and died instantly at the scene.

His body has been transported to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital mortuary in Mampong Akwapim for preservation and autopsy.

Meanwhile, Michael Asinyo has been detained to assist with the investigations.
