The houseboy arrested in connection with the murder of Dr Christopher Adu Boahen has been remanded in police custody.

The accused person, Mark Forson, has been provisionally charged with murder by the Kaneshie District Court.

The prosecution pleaded with the court to remand the accused person since investigations are still ongoing.

But the defence team had a contrary view.

They wanted the court to take into consideration the fact that the accused voluntarily walked to the police station when he was summoned by the police and grant him bail.

The court presided by Nana A. A. Owusu-Omenyo sided with the prosecution and remanded the accused to reappear on April 15.

The facts of the case indicate that the complainant is a surgeon at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and a friend to the deceased Dr Christopher Adu Boahen.

The prosecution said on February 11, 2024, the complainant decided to visit his friend in his apartment, but upon reaching the door, he perceived an unusual smell.

He then proceeded to the deceased’s room and found him lying on his bed dead.

The complainant immediately proceeded to the East Legon Police Station and lodged a complaint.

According to the prosecution, the police went to the scene of the crime and saw the deceased lying on his bed with a rope around his neck which suggested foul play.

The body was then conveyed to the Police Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
