How to Complete the Wolves and Foxes Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
The Wolves and Foxes quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an early mission in Naoe’s storyline, available after completing the Before the Fall quest.
Set in the Little Leaf Glade area of Yamashiro province, the quest follows Naoe as she helps an Igan battalion fight off Mitsuhide’s forces.

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the Wolves and Foxes main quest is the 63rd mission. Located in the Yamashiro region, this quest becomes available after completing the quest Before the Fall.
With a recommended level of 24, you’ll face a small battalion of Mitsuhide’s clan who have cornered Tokugawa Ieyasu and his Igan defenders. Completing this mission rewards you with 1000 EXP and 20 Mon.

To start the quest, head to Uji Tawara, a small settlement in eastern Yamashiro. You can fast travel there if you have the Uji Tawara Kakurega unlocked. You’ll find Tokugawa and his forces in the southeast corner of the settlement.
A fierce battle unfolds between Igan warriors and Mitsuhide’s soldiers the moment you arrive. The goal is to eliminate the enemy forces before speaking with Tokugawa Ieyasu.
ii. Choosing the Course of Action

After clearing the area, Tokugawa thanks Naoe and Yasuke for their help and shares his plan to resist Mitsuhide with Hattori Hanzo’s support, choosing to wait for the right moment to act. You’ll face a decision:
1. [We will be patient.]
2. [Patience will not stop Mitsuhide.]
Both options lead to the same outcome.

If you select Yasuke’s response, “We will be patient,” he’ll cite his mother’s saying, “Haste leads to waste,” and Tokugawa will agree, emphasizing the importance of patience in achieving peace.
On the other hand, if you choose Naoe’s response, “Patience will not stop Mitsuhide,” she’ll express skepticism about waiting, but Tokugawa will remain committed to his patient approach, believing it will ultimately lead to victory.

Follow Hattori Honzo to the water’s edge and engage in another conversation. During this conversation, you’ll learn more about Naoe’s mother and the hidden blade on Naoe’s wrist. You’ll have another dialogue choice:

The choice between patience and immediate action doesn’t change the quest’s outcome. Tokugawa’s plan remains the same, and the story progresses as intended, marking this quest finished.
