Fortnite Rocket Racing pits you with others to race on different tracks. Find out how to drift in Fortnite Rocket Racing so you can secure the first place.

Rocket Racing perfectly blends the experience of Fortnite and Rocket League with some exciting touches. In this game mode, you compete with others to drift, fly, and boost yourself to victory. As with any racing game, drifting plays an important part as it’s one of the core mechanics that can give you the upper hand on the race track, especially when every second counts.

So, if you’re looking to get that extra speed boost and nail your turns, here’s how to drift in Fortnite Rocket Racing.

Fortnite Rocket Racing Drift Guide

If you aren’t too familiar with racing games, seeing your competitors flawlessly cut corners while you struggle to make the right turn can feel a bit overwhelming at first.

Well, fortunately, drifting isn’t something too complicated in this game. There are two ways you can drift. The first way to drift is by holding left or right before a turn.

If done correctly, you’ll notice smoke coming out of your car and your Turbo charge starts filling up, indicating that your car has started drifting. From here, you can adjust the drift according to how sharp you want it to be from how long you’re pressing the directional key before driving back in a straight line.

Manual Drift in Fortnite Rocket Racing

Drifting manually is also a solid option in Fortnite Rocket Racing. Arguably, this seems to be an easier option if you haven’t fully memorized the tracks. It’s easy to get caught off-guard with sharp turns out of nowhere, and that’s where manual drifting shines.

Instead of holding a key before you see a turn, you’ll just need to press a certain key to start drifting. Depending on the platform you’re playing, this can be Shift on the keyboard, X on Xbox, Y for Nintendo, or the square on PlayStation.

While you’re drifting, don’t forget to pay attention to the purple and green bars. These are essentially your boost meters, and the fuller they are, the faster and longer the boost your car will receive after drifting.

So, that’s all that you need to know about drifting in Fortnite. It might take a while to fully get the hang of this, but with enough practice, you’ll be able to do it smoothly and outrace your enemies. While you’re here, check out our guides hub for more guides and stories for Fortnite.
