How to watch 2024 Indy 500 pole qualifying Sunday on NBC and Peacock

The 33-car field for the 108th running of the Indy 500 will be finalized Sunday, May 19 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Coverage will begin at noon ET on Peacock with a two-hour practice for the 12 cars that advanced to the second round of qualifying and the four cars that are fighting for the final three spots on the grid.

NBC and Peacock will have qualifying coverage from 3-6 p.m. ET, starting with Fast 12 qualifying at 3:05 p.m. ET to set positions 7-12 (Rows 3 and 4).

Last Chance Qualifying will begin at 4:15 p.m. ET with Marcus Ericsson, Katherine Legge, Graham Rahal and Nolan Siegel (one driver will be eliminated and fail to qualify for the indy 500).

The Firestone Fast Six will begin at 5:25 p.m. ET with the fastest driver winning the pole position for the 108th Indy 500.

NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson will be among the 12 drivers eligible for the pole position. The Hendrick Motorsports star locked in a spot to ensure he will become the fifth driver to race the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in the same day.

The other 11 drivers who are in the Fast 12: Will Power, Scott McLaughlin, Josef Newgarden, Alexander Rossi, Kyle Kirkwood, Felix Rosenqvist, Santino Ferrucci, Takuma Sato, Pato O’Ward, Rinus VeeKay and Ryan Hunter-Reay.

Positions 13 through 30 were locked in during the first day of qualifying.

QUALIFYING INFORMATIONDEFENDING POLE WINNER: Alex Palou, the defending series champion who won his second points title last year. Palou will be making his fifth Indy 500 start this year, having finished a career-best second in 2021 and fourth in 2023.

TURBO BOOST: Available only for the “Fast Friday” practice and qualifying Saturday and Sunday, IndyCar teams will have roughly 100 more horsepower at their disposal with the turbo boost increased for the Chevrolet and Honda engines. That will produce average speeds of around 235 mph across four laps.
