Katie Ledecky will look to extend her run of aquatic dominance when she heads to Singapore for the Swimming World Championships.
Ledecky already owns the record for the most individual world championship gold medals with 16, but she could add another accomplishment to the history books at this year’s meet. If the 28-year-old can once again win the 800m freestyle race, she will become the first swimmer to earn seven world titles in one event.
She will face some tough competitors, though, most notably Summer McIntosh. The 18-year-old Canadian stunned the American legend in 2024, handing Ledecky her first loss in an 800m freestyle final since 2010.
