After an exhilarating group stage, the Premier12 baseball tournament advances to the Super Round, with four teams left vying for a championship.Â
Japan, which captured the title in 2019, aims for back-to-back championships. The Japanese posted a perfect 5-0 record in group play.Â
Meanwhile, Chinese Taipei, Venezuela, and the United States are hoping to win the Premier12 for the very first time.Â
The Americans went 3-2 in group play, but notched a pair of blowout wins in their final two games to surge into the Super Round. Rays prospect Chandler Simpson and Cubs prospect Matt Shaw have sparked the offense, while ageless wonder Rich Hill has hurled 6.1 innings without allowing an earned run. Team USA is led by longtime MLB skipper Mike Scioscia.Â
