Hurricane Chris Says Issue With 50 Cent Was “Big Misunderstanding”
“And like I say, it’s no malice. It’s no hate. It’s all love, but I must voice my opinion because I been here.”

Hurricane Chris is elaborating on his stance and energy regarding 50 Cent‘s Humor & Harmony Weekend. In an interview with Shreveport’s KSLA 12 News, the rapper opened up about his problem with 50’s inaugural festival for the city and what led to him speaking out against his festivities.
“And like I say, it’s no malice. It’s no hate. It’s all love, but I must voice my opinion because I been here, and I been in Shreveport,” Chris expressed. “I definitely had no malice. It was just me wanting to see my community be respected. I had already seen him come into the community and disrespect the culture and names.”
Hurricane, né Christopher Dooley Jr., claimed in his viral rant that Fif didn’t include any local artists in the event, but that was quickly debunked as fans pointed to artists from Shreveport’s Red River District performing at the festival. It was also reported that Fredo Bang and rapper Big Fella Zil rocked the stage during the H&H Weekend—both artists from Louisiana.
“At the end of the day, I think I was just frustrated with the fact that none of the artists that I seen put in a lot of work in this city got paid to be on that stage…[Shreveport does] have artists, a lot of artists, more artists than that I can’t even name that would rock stages like that. It’s not about me. My son had a football game that day, so I couldn’t perform,” he maintained.
“Once again, it was a festival. It was not a showcasing a lot of local rappers performed…so it was just something to come out have a good time. So to make that statement, I feel it was out of line. It makes us as people look bad…Yeah… I’m willing to work with him like I told you. I think it’s a big misunderstanding, and we need to sit down,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, 50 Cent has already begun cracking jokes at Hurricane Chris’ expense. On Wednesday (Aug. 21), Fif reposted a video from Gary Owen that parodied Chris’ rant. Owens is seen living it up in a Houston Astros suite during the team’s series against the Boston Red Sox. As he shows off the lavish setting, he begins to vent his frustrations regarding the lack of pizza, and how dare he try to show him a good time, mocking Hurricane’s delivery and critiques.
“50 Cent how you gonna invite me to your suite & not have any pizza what kinda bi**h a** shit [is] that? Treating me all good in Houston knowing I’m from Cincinnati. What kinda bi**h a** sh*t is that?,” Owens’ caption read.
“WTF Bro I’m trying to do the right thing. LOL YOU ALMOST SAID THE N WORD LMAO!” Fif responded cracking up at the video.
