I played for Andy Reid but now I’m out to end his three-peat Super Bowl dreams
There comes a time in a person’s life, when the student becomes the master.
That is what Houston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans is hoping to happen on Saturday, when he faces off against his former head coach, Andy Reid.

Before the rings, before anyone knew the names Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, it was Ryan and Reid in Philly.
It was Ryans’ first year as an Eagle, and Reid’s last.
Fast forward twelve years later, and the two are set to face one another in the divisional round on Saturday afternoon.

The two teams already faced one another this year in Kansas City, with the Chiefs coming out on top 27-19.
Before that game in December, Ryans talked about how much Reid impacted him in such a short amount of time during their one season together in Philadelphia.
“From being with [Chiefs Head Coach] Andy [Reid] for one year, I really respect the way he ran the show,” Ryans said.
“He was a really great coach, did a really great job of looking out for his players. I learned a lot from Andy and how he ran things.
“Just a ton of respect for him. He has been very successful his entire career.

“A coach who has had a ton of success and loves to do it with a smile.”
Ryans is going to have his hands full come Saturday.
Mahomes is a perfect 6-0 in the divisional round in his career.
In those six games, he has accounted for 1,813 total yards, 16 total touchdowns, zero interceptions, a 70.4% completion percentage, and a 115.8 passer rating.
In other words, Mahomes has been flawless in the divisional round.
Meanwhile, Ryans and the Texans will be looking to do something for the first time in franchise history.
And that’s win a divisional round game.
The Texans are 0-5 all-time in the second round of the postseason, and have never made the AFC championship game.
Ryans is hoping to make history, while at the same time, stop Reid and the Chiefs from making some of their own.
No team in NFL history has won three consecutive Super Bowls.
The Chiefs are looking to become the first team to accomplish that feat, while Ryans is hoping to be the one to slay the giant.
