If you’re looking for skin-care intel, listen up: according to my good friend Khloe Kardashian (OK, the good friend part might be a stretch), the Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro ($399) is a “game-changer.” In a recent video posted on her Instagram Reels, the reality star can be seen using the skin-care device on her skin, and after watching it a few times (read: six or seven times) and seeing the way her skin looked post-treatment (glowy, plump, and exactly how I want my own skin to look), I knew I had to try it.

I’m no stranger to testing skin-care devices; in fact, it’s one of my favorite pastimes. Whether it’s an LED mask, microcurrent device, or something even wilder like an EMS mask, I’m game. Yes, they take time, consistency, and hard-earned cash, but in my opinion, a lot of them are worth it when you can achieve in-office results in the comfort of your own home.

Keep scrolling to read my full review of the Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro and find out why I’m gonna keep taking skin care advice from Khloe Kardashian whenever she offers it.

About the Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro

This device has six different functions: electroporation, microcurrent, EMS, electric needles, LED, and sonic vibration.
It’s suitable for use on all skin types.
It works in conjunction with an app (called the “Age-R” app) if you need more hands-on tutorials.
It comes with the device, a user manual, and USB charging cable; however you can also purchase packages that include skin-care products from the brand to use with the device. (You can also use products you already own.)
What I Like About the Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro

The best thing about this product is that it’s essentially six treatments in one. Rather than needing six different devices — like an LED mask, an EMS mask, and a microcurrent device — you can do it all with just one tool.

It features an LED mode that has five different LED colors for different skin concerns: blue to target acne-causing bacteria, red to boost circulation in the skin, green to reduce inflammation, orange to combat dullness, and purple, which offers a combination of red and blue light benefits. I use the green light most often because none of my other LED devices have that feature.

Booster mode, also known as electroporation, uses short high-voltage electrical pulses to generate gaps in the skin’s cell membrane, which the brand claims helps your skin-care products absorb more efficiently. MC mode, also known as microcurrent, helps target fine lines and wrinkles. Derma shot mode, aka EMS, helps contour facial muscles. Air shot mode uses electric needle technology to form micro-holes and improve pore elasticity. It’s great for anyone looking to improve pore size and acne scarring, and the brand recommends it as an alternative to microneedling.

Last, there’s custom vibration care, which offers different vibration patterns for the skin. I use booster mode most often because I’ve found it helps my skin-care products absorb better. I also like to use the vibration mode whenever my jaw is feeling tight because I’ve found that it helps relieve tension from my TMJ.

You might think that because it offers six treatment options in one, it would be bigger in size, but that’s not the case. In fact, I love bringing this tool with me whenever I travel so I can give my skin the pick-me-up it needs without taking up too much space in my suitcase. (When I’m at home, I actually don’t mind a bigger device.)

How to Use the Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro

POPSUGAR Photography | Renee RodriguezHow you use the Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro really depends on your specific skin-care needs and what you’re looking to achieve. The brand recommends using air shot mode on dry skin two to three times a week, booster mode after applying skin care one to three times a week, MC mode one to three times a day, and derma shot mode with moisturizer one to three times a day.

When I’m traveling I like to make use of this product in its entirety, but when I’m at home I have different devices that I find more convenient. For example, I prefer to use my full-face LED mask because it covers the entire area, whereas with the Medicube I have to move it manually over different parts of my face. It’s a targeted treatment, meaning no matter what mode you use, you’ll need to hold the device to the area you want to treat for a set amount of time in order to see results.

On a daily basis, I like to use this product in booster mode when applying skin-care products onto my face, which is where I find the true value in this product. I find that my skin looks more supple and moisturized when I use the device to apply vitamin C serum or hyaluronic acid rather than just my hands.

I also like to use the derma shot mode every day if I have time, because that plus five or so minutes using the vibrations helps ease any jaw pain I have from clenching overnight. I usually skip the air shot mode altogether since I don’t think my skin needs it.

What to Consider Before Trying the Medicube AGE-R Booster Pro

If you’re just starting out with skin-care tools and you want to try everything out, this tool is a great beginner option. I’ve found it’s amazing for helping skin-care products absorb, and I would personally purchase it just for that reason. It also works well as an EMS device and a microcurrent device, although I have found the results to be more subtle than other microcurrent devices I’ve used in the past. (For what it’s worth, I also didn’t find the mode featuring electric needle technology to be as earth-shattering as microneedling, but I did notice an improvement in my pore size.)

Also, if you’re looking for an LED device, I would suggest going with a mask since you can cover more surface area, and you can actually multitask while you use it, rather than needing to be so hands on.
