Ian O’Connor Books: All About New York Times Bestselling Author as He Announces Aaron Rodgers Biography
Renowned author and ESPN journalist Ian O’Connor is ready with a new biography of Aaron Rodgers, which will be released soon. He posted recently on X about how badly he wanted to see a Jets vs. Green Bay Packers Super Bowl game. We don’t know if that will happen soon, but we can live O’Connor’s dreams vicariously through his books.

The Marist alumnus has four back-to-back NYT bestsellers, namely, Belichick: The Making of the Greatest Football Coach of All Time; Coach K: The Rise and Reign of Mike Krzyzewski; The Captain: The Journey of Derek Jeter; and Arnie And Jack: Palmer, Nicklaus, and Golf’s Greatest Rivalry. His latest book, Out of the Darkness: The Magic and Mystery of Aaron Rodgers, is up for pre-order.
He was named the No. 1 columnist in his niche three times. The Golf Writers Association of America, Pro Football Writers of America, and the Associated Press Sports Editors honored him. In May 2022, O’Connor received the Distinguished Alumni Medal for his time at the Marist College. But his accolades don’t stop here.

He interviewed late Vince Lombardi’s former students when the Super Bowl LVIII concluded. The author, who graduated from St Cecilia in 1982, notes Lombardi’s legacy, which has left a significant mark on him.
“If you played football at St. Cecilia, even during difficult seasons as the bigger regional Catholic schools cut into enrollment, you felt like you were representing something greater than that particular team,” said O’Connor and added, “My childhood home in Englewood was all of nine houses away from Lombardi’s on Mountain View Road, so it was hard not to be impacted by his titanic career.”

His latest post on X revealed the book’s cover, which shows a sad Aaron Rodgers. He wrote, “I was asked why I’m pulling for a #Jets #Packers Super Bowl. Here’s why: My upcoming biography of Aaron Rodgers. I saw him recently & he looks pretty jacked in the upper body. He confirmed he got bigger. Looks ready for a fight.”
