If Your Battlefield 6 Crew Plays On Xbox, It’ll Earn Less XP Than On PlayStation

Why is this a thing?

Battlefield 6 is out now, and after four years of waiting since 2042, thousands of players will be hopping into the game’s vast multiplayer suite in the coming days – and for years to come, for that matter. Bringing a good squad with you is always recommended in Battlefield, but as it turns out, that squad will be benefitted if it plays on PlayStation over other platforms.

As shared by CharlieIntel, it’s been discovered that partying up with two or more PS Plus subscribers nets your whole BF6 crew an extra 5% in bonus XP. While this isn’t a huge boost — you actually get another 5% bonus just for being in a party in the first place — it still feels rather silly to grant platform XP boosts like this, especially in this day and age where crossplay is a big thing in most multiplayer games.

Is this going to cause loads of players to change platforms for Battlefield 6? No, probably not – but equally, a 5% XP boost is hardly likely to convince a PlayStation player to stick around by itself. This just comes across as a bit outdated to us, to be honest, and the small boost makes it feel even more pointless. Oh well, we’ll have to live with it we suppose!

Timed and platform exclusives have long been a thing in gaming (with Xbox, it’s more a thing of the past now), so we get it – we’re just not sure who they benefit, especially in such minor cases like this. Regardless, we’ll continue to enjoy BF6 on Xbox in the coming days – and hopefully earn enough extra XP to close that gap.

What do you make of this weird PS exclusive XP boost? Talk to us about it down below.
