IRONMAN Kona Age Group results 2024 and podium finishers after the most ICONIC race in triathlon
The pro race in the 2024 IRONMAN World Championship brought rave reviews on Saturday, but it was only part of the story on a very special day for the sport of triathlon in Kona.
While Patrick Lange claimed a third title in spectacular circumstances after a race which featured epic risk-taking and epic blowups, more than 2000 Age Group athletes were also having their moment in the sun in Hawaii.
We had some incredible stories, including young Aussie AG Sam Askey-Doran smashing the overall swim course record, and Britain’s Billy Monger destroying the Ironman world record for a double amputee with prosthetic legs.
It is time now though to focus on the podium finishers in each Age Group category, the athletes who not only qualified and trained all year round to prepare for the greatest test of all. They then absolutely aced that test on the Big Island.
