Is Donovan Mitchell playing tonight for Cavaliers vs. Raptors?

The Cleveland Cavaliers may take their injury woes to the next level against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night.

Darius Garland is already out with a toe setback, and his dependable backcourt mate, Donovan Mitchell, may soon join him on the Cavaliers’ bench, as he’s dealing with his own concerning injury problems.

Is Donovan Mitchell playing vs. the Raptors tonight? Mitchell is listed as questionable for the Cavaliers’ pivotal NBA Cup contest vs. the Raptors with a left hamstring injury.

With Mitchell being an explosive scoring guard known for frequently stopping on a dime, changing direction, and elevating for above-the-rim finishes, a hamstring issue is the worst-case scenario for the 29-year-old star.

If Mitchell decides he can play through the injury, he’ll risk worsening his condition and missing an extended period with the Cavaliers.

However, Mitchell is in a similar situation to Los Angeles Lakers standout guard Austin Reaves. Like the Cavaliers, the Lakers can’t keep their roster intact during the first stage of the season, forcing Reaves to play his best basketball for Los Angeles to secure victories.

Without Mitchell at the Cavaliers’ disposal, Cleveland would undoubtedly be doomed on the offensive end, likely resulting in a lengthy losing streak.

Expect the Louisville product to attempt to put the superhero cape on for the sixth consecutive game despite enduring a nagging lower-body injury.
