Is The Studio Coming Back for Season 2?
The film industry is alive and strong. Well, it is as long as weāre talking about the fictional Continental Studios in Seth Rogenās The Studio. According to Apple TV+, the comedy series will return for season 2.
āWe’re thrilled to be making a second season of The Studio,ā Rogen and his co-producer, Evan Goldberg, stated in the official press release. “We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making season one and immediately putting it into season two, then repeating that loop for ten more seasons.ā Rogen also joked that, “weāre excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+.”
In the first season of The Studioāwhich airs weekly on Apple TV+ until the finale on May 21ĀāRogen stars as the fresh-faced Continental Studios head Matt Remick. Heās an anxious and self-centered film executive who is quickly disillusioned and overwhelmed by the business of modern moviemaking.
The role was inspired by something a film executive once told Rogen and his partner during their early days shopping scripts to studios in Hollywood. According to Rogen, the unnamed bigwig confessed that, “I got into this job because I love the movies, and now I feel like itās my job to ruin them.” In The Studio, that man is Matt Remick. His first task? Screw over Martin Scorsese and then produce a Kool-Aid movie.
“Judd [Apatow] let me listen in on a notes call from the network for Freaks and Geeks when I was like sixteen,ā Rogen told Esquire in our March 2025 cover story. āAnd before the call began, he said: āThe thing to keep in mind is that everything they say to us on this call is based in the fact that theyāre all terrified of losing their jobs every second of every day.’ ”
Hopefully, the season 2 renewal will offer Remick a bit of respite.
