Italian side preparing new offer for Spurs defender
Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the Premier League’s busier clubs during the transfer window so far.Â
The Lilywhites have completed deals for two teenagers – Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall – to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s squad ahead of next season.
The Australian guided Spurs to a fifth-placed Premier League finish in his first season in charge in North London, but the former Celtic boss will be hoping to improve next term and qualify for the Champions League.
Now, though, it appears that one of Spurs’ current players could be edging nearer to a move away from the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Italian side AC Milan are preparing a new offer for Tottenham full-back Emerson Royal.
The journalist suggests that the Italian side are hoping to finalise a deal for the player next week, with a fee in the region of ÂŁ12.7 million likely to be agreed.
Royal looks increasingly likely to join AC Milan this summer
Royal, 25, joined the Lilywhites from Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer of 2021 and has since played 101 times for the London side across all competitions.
The Brazilian is contracted to Tottenham until 2026, but Romano suggests that the right-back could instead be on his way out of the club this month.
Royal himself is said to be keen on the prospect of a move to Milan, with the Brazilian having already verbally agreed a five-year contract with the Serie A side.
Those in charge of Tottenham’s recruitment must now work to agree a deal with their Italian counterparts.
