Iwobi scores on former hunting ground as Everton snatch draw against Fulham
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi scored for Fulham in their hard-fought 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park, Soccernet.ng reports.
Iwobi returned to to action for Fulhan when they traveled to Merseyside to take on Everton. The Cottagers had lost their previous two games and were looking to return to winning ways, while Everton were looking to maintain their four-game unbeaten run.
For Nigerian star Iwobi, it was a return to his former club, albeit not the first time since his transfer to Fulham last year. Compatriot Calvin Bassey was also in the starting eleven for the Cottagers.
In the first half, both teams struggled to create many good goalscoring chances. Fulham were the slightly better side, as they created the better chances. However, they first half ended goalless.
In the second half, the game caught fire midway through. Iwobi gave Fulham the lead in the 61st minute after a superb piece of action between him and Emile Smith-Rowe.

After going ahead, Everton picked up the pace and started to create better chances. However, they failed to score.
Just as it looked that Fulham would run out with the win, Everton scored in the 94th minute, courtesy of Beto.
Iwobi had a great game, as he registered a 75% pass accuracy, three successful dribbles, and 65 touches. Meanwhile, Bassey was decent, as he registered a 92% pass accuracy, and one interception. The game ended 1-1.
