Jack Perry beat Darby Allin in a Coffin Match at the AEW All In pay-per-view in London on Sunday to retain the TNT Championship, but that wasn’t the only major development from the match.

Sting made an appearance to help out his old tag team partner:

After missing a couple of months of action due to injury, Allin returned to represent AEW in an Anarchy in the Arena match against Perry and the rest of The Elite at Double or Nothing in May.

Allin endured a ton of punishment in the match, including nearly getting run over by a vehicle driven by Perry, and later getting strung up above the ring by his ankles. Perry, The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada went on to win.

The daredevil missed another two months of in-ring action after getting beaten and battered at Double or Nothing, but he once again rose to the occasion when it was time to fight back against The Elite.

Allin teamed with Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe and The Acclaimed in a Blood & Guts match against Perry, The Young Bucks, Okada and “Hangman” Adam Page last month, and he essentially won the bout for his team.

In the weeks leading up to Blood & Guts, Allin had challenged Perry to a TNT Championship match in the wake of Perry winning a ladder match to become TNT champion at Forbidden Door.

While Perry essentially ignored Allin’s request at first, he was essentially given no choice other than to grant the title match during Blood & Guts.

Perry was tied to the cage by Team AEW, and Allin doused him in gasoline while holding a lighter. Allin threatened to light Perry on fire unless he was given a title match, and Matthew Jackson agreed to give it to him.

Jackson also surrendered the match to save Perry, handing the victory to Allin and the rest of Team AEW.

During the build toward their bout, Perry made the surprising decision to add a Coffin Match stipulation, which is Allin’s signature match.

Allin looked to get the better of Perry again and become a three-time TNT champion in the process at All In, but Perry got revenge and managed to retain the title at Wembley Stadium.
