Jake Paul pummels helpless Ryan Bourland and wins by first-round KO, then tells Canelo Alvarez to ‘stop ducking’

Jake Paul knocked out Ryan Bourland with ease on Saturday night in Puerto Rico.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer emerged with a record of 9-1 after his first ten pro fights, having only lost to Tommy Fury in the boxing ring to date.

Paul overwhelmed Bourland in round oneThe fight began with an aggressive approach from Bourland as he took centre ring and attempted a few combinations within the first minute.

Paul avoided these with relative ease though and fired back with some nice body shots.

With a minute to go in round one, Paul staggered Bourland with a series of shots which had him tottering around the ring.

Bourland did well to stay on his feet initially, but this did not last long.

With 20 seconds remaining, Paul poured more pressure on and trapped his opponent in the corner.

He collapsed to the canvas after being nailed by several more punches and the referee instantly waved the fight off.

“I wanted it to be a little bit longer,” Paul reacted, “To give the fans a little bit more time.

“But I’m just so happy to be here in Puerto Rico, you guys show a lot of love.

The fight was waved off straightaway”I couldn’t have done it without my team.

“A little bit of shake and bake, dodged his punches, then put his sorry ass on the floor.

“He was supposed to give it to me, right? He had 19 fights, was super experienced, so I guess we’ve got to step it up even more.

“I’m ready. This is my life now, I’m on my road to world champion.”

Paul then went to call out Canelo Alvarez as he said: “Canelo, stop ducking, I know you want it. I’m repping Puerto Rico, you’re repping Mexico, so it’s Puerto Rico vs Mexico.

“I want Canelo, I want all the biggest names. I’m the face of this sport, who’s doing more for boxing than me?

“I keep on proving myself time and time again, the most viral boxer and the most viral KOs, nobody can deny that.

“I’m gonna stay active, I’m falling in love with this sport. It’s a lifestyle.

“I’m on the path to world champion and I wanna keep fighting tougher fights.
