After years away from the recording studio, Academy Award-winning actor and R&B vocalist Jamie Foxx is reportedly in the process of resuming his music career with a new album.
The news comes courtesy of renowned producer and songwriter Breyon Prescott, who recently shared a clip of Foxx passionately singing while the two were traveling together.
“THIS IS MY PROCESS OF REAL RECORD MAKING WITH MY BROTHER THE ICON @iamjamiefoxx,” Prescott wrote in the caption accompanying the video.

“WE ARE MAKING SOME AMAZING MUSIC TOGETHER WITH THIS NEW ALBUM. SONGS WITH MEANING AND FEELING AGAIN LIKE LUTHER,” he added, referencing the late legendary singer Luther Vandross.
Prescott’s comments have sparked excitement among fans of Foxx’s musical talents. This is not the first time the two have collaborated, as they previously worked together on the track “Love Changes” from Foxx’s 2005 sophomore album Unpredictable.
Their latest project appears to be a return to classic R&B and soul-infused music, reminiscent of Foxx’s earlier works.

Back in December, Prescott hinted at their ongoing collaboration while sharing a holiday message alongside Foxx. In a social media post, he encouraged fans to watch Foxx’s Netflix comedy special, What Had Happened Was, with their loved ones during the holiday season.
“ME AND MY BROTHER @iamjamiefoxx ARE WISHING EVERYONE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS,” Prescott wrote at the time.
“ENJOY FAMILY AND BE GREATFUL FOR ALL YOU HAVE. WHILE YOU SIT WITH FAMILY PLEASE CHECK OUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAS IT IS ICONIC AND LEGENDARY.”

Prescott, who has long praised Foxx’s artistry, referred to him as an “icon” and a “G.O.A.T.” while reaffirming that the pair were actively working on new music. According to the producer, their upcoming project is poised to be a “masterpiece.”
Foxx’s return to the studio follows a tumultuous period in his life, including a serious medical scare in April 2023 that led to hospitalization.
While the details surrounding his condition were largely kept private, Foxx has since reassured fans of his recovery and made public appearances, signaling his return to both music and entertainment.

A multi-talented artist, Foxx has previously released five studio albums, including Peep This (1994), Unpredictable (2005), Intuition (2008), Best Night of My Life (2010), and Hollywood: A Story of a Dozen Roses (2015).
With hits like “Blame It” featuring T-Pain and “Unpredictable” with Ludacris, he has solidified himself as a formidable presence in R&B.
With Prescott’s declaration that their latest effort will bring back “songs with meaning and feeling,” anticipation is high for what Foxx has in store. If history is any indication, his return to music could be nothing short of spectacular.
