Jane’s Addiction breaks out into fight at Boston concert after Perry Farrell punches Dave Navarro onstage

Rock band Jane’s Addiction broke out into a fight at a Boston concert on Friday night after lead singer Perry Farrell “body checked” and then punched Dave Navarro onstage.

In footage shared by Farrell’s wife, Etty Farrell, on Saturday, the rocker could be seen angrily singing into the mic and then slamming his body into Navarro during a show at the Leader Bank Pavilion music venue.

The lead singer then started shouting at the guitarist, who backpedaled and tried to keep his bandmate at a distance by placing his forearm on his chest.

Perry, 65, grew more agitated and proceeded to swing at Navarro, 57, but landed the blow on the guitar.

A crew member ran from backstage to get Perry under control, which seemed to upset him further. Two additional men grabbed him as he seemingly tried to fight them off.

Navarro, meanwhile, placed his guitar on the stage, spoke to what appeared to be a security guard and walked away.

Jane’s Addiction did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Etty, however, shared via Instagram that there had been some “tension and animosity” surrounding the band leading up to the fight.

“Perry’s frustration had been mounting, night after night, he felt that the stage volume had been extremely loud and his voice was being drowned out by the band,” she wrote.

“Perry had been suffering from tinnitus and a sore throat every night. But when the audience in the first row, started complaining up to Perry cussing at him that the band was planning too loud and that they couldn’t hear him, Perry lost it.”

She claimed Perry had been upset over the stage volume and “lost it” when he realized fans were complaining they could not hear him. X/@RMWhitaker

She revealed the incident happened after Jane’s Addiction started their song “Ocean” before “Perry was ready and did the count off.”

“The stage volume was so loud at that point, that Perry couldn’t hear pass the boom and the vibration of the instruments and by the end of the song, he wasn’t singing, he was screaming just be to be heard,” Etty further explained.

She added that an altercation also occurred behind the stage, with bassist Eric Avery putting “Perry in a headlock and [punching] him in the stomach three times.”

Etty said her husband became “a crazed beast” in the 30 minutes following the fight and then broke down “cried and cried.”

Fans were clearly concerned in Etty’s comment section, with one begging her to get Perry help and stop “enabling” him.

“It’s crystal clear that your husband is struggling, so please stop trying to spin this,” the user added.

“It’s none of our business what is specifically wrong with Perry, but something IS wrong with Perry — and while it isn’t your sole responsibility to fix or save him, you also don’t have to be part of the impasse that prevents him from healing.”
