Jennifer Lawrence Wore Flip-Flops in This Bold Color Combo—So They’ll Probably Be Everywhere Soon
Just when I thought could almost replicate Jennifer Lawrence’s casual summer jorts-and-tee outfit with things I already have in the back of my closet, I remembered. There’s quiet luxury, and then there’s luxury so quiet you’d have to be a detective (or a Glamour editor) to spot it, and JLaw is a master at that.
On June 6, the Oscar winner was photographed out and about in New York City, as she often is, dressed for a day off. Lawrence wore oversized cut-off jorts, a very attainable vintage Morris the Cat tee, a blue baseball cap, and two-toned red-and-black flip-flops. Which turn out to be the Dune grosgrain thong sandals from The Row, and cost a cool $690. Believe it or not, we’ve seen the same flip-flops from The Row just recently, when they were worn by Kendall Jenner out in Malibu.

Of course, anyone familiar with Jennifer Lawrence’s street style will not be that surprised by this. It is a well-documented fact that The Row is one of Lawrence’s favorite brands. She’s been seen walking around in the brand’s equally pricy slipper flats and practical leather handbags, among other elevated wardrobe staples. You might say that Lawrence is the “quiet luxury” aesthetic’s quietest but most dedicated spokesperson.
Lawrence may have kept this look casual, but flip-flops have become one of this summer’s hottest footwear trends. Yes, even for office-wear. The good news for those of us who are not movie stars and don’t have a movie star’s clothing budget is that you don’t need to buy from The Row to hop on the flip-flop train. There are plenty of chic options from Reformation, Tory Burch, and even Amazon. And, if all else fails, there’s nothing wrong with a classic pair of Havaianas. If they’re good enough for Jennifer Lopez, they’re good enough for me.
