Sauce Gardner brought the receipts.

After reports suggested former New York Jets wide receiver Mecole Hardman leaked the team’s game plans to the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, the cornerback brought back a 2013 tweet:

This comes after Connor Hughes of SNY reported “there was validated belief from the Jets” that Hardman leaked the game plans to those two opponents as he was “frustrated by his lack of usage.”

Hardman signed with the Jets ahead of the 2023 season but played just five games before they traded him to Kansas City, which was the same team he suited up for during the first four years of his career.

While he had just three targets in five games for New York, he ended up catching the game-winning touchdown pass for the Chiefs in their Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers.

He also notably appeared on The Pivot podcast with ESPN’s Ryan Clark and said he was “so checked out” when he was with the Jets and asked the Chiefs to “come get me.”

As for the potential leaked game plans, Gardner also suggested it was a reality in a since-deleted post:

Ultimately, Hardman seemed to get the last laugh as a Super Bowl champion, but the Jets clearly aren’t happy with what may have happened during his tenure with the team.
