The injuries are piling up for WWE, with Jimmy Uso reportedly set to miss time.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported Uso will be out of action with an undisclosed injury.
According to Sapp (h/t Eric Mutter of Wrestling Inc.), WWE will keep Uso out of the draft that begins Friday night on SmackDown and designate him as a free agent until he returns.
It’s unclear when the injury might have occurred. Uso hasn’t wrestled a match since losing to his brother, Jey Uso, at WrestleMania 40.
Jimmy was on the April 12 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. He was kicked out of The Bloodline in an angle involving Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga.
Since Uso wasn’t on last week’s episode of SmackDown, it’s plausible WWE used that angle as a way to write him off television if it was known at the time he was injured.
This is the latest in a string of key injuries WWE is facing right now. Rhea Ripley suffered a shoulder injury during a backstage segment with Liv Morgan on the April 8 episode of Raw that forced her to vacate the women’s world title.
Per PWInsider (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), Ripley’s recovery timeline depends on how her shoulder responds to physical therapy and if she ends up needing surgery.
Dominik Mysterio revealed on Monday’s episode of Raw he was also dealing with a shoulder injury when he appeared onscreen with his arm in a sling. Fightful Select reported a timetable for his return isn’t known at this point.
Jimmy’s feud with Jey was one of the major programs in WWE leading up to WrestleMania. Their match marked the first one-on-one bout for both superstars on the biggest show of the year. They wrestled as a tag team at WrestleMania nine times and worked as singles competitors in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33.
