Kentucky has not fared well at home recently, and now the Wildcats are suffering a historically bad losing streak.

With Gonzaga’s upset win over Kentucky at Rupp Arena on Saturday, the Wildcats now have their first three-game home losing streak since 1966. The skid is the longest ever at Rupp Arena, which opened in 1976.

The streak began against Florida when the Gators pulled off an upset over the Wildcats in overtime last week. Kentucky then lost to Tennessee at home 103-92, giving up the most points at Rupp Arena since 1992. The Wildcats got back on track on the road against Vanderbilt, but the home skid continued when Gonzaga held on to beat Kentucky 89-85 on Saturday.

After another home loss, fans on social media called for the firing of head coach John Calipari, who has been at Kentucky since 2009.

Michael Whitfield @michaelwhit05Fire Calipari. No reason for him to coach another game. Throw the bag at drew from Baylor. Calipari should never step foot in rupp ever again. If he does nobody should go to the next game

𝕼𝖔𝖔𝖕¼ @OhNoCoopIf this team misses the tournament you have to fire Calipari

iamemmettsmith @iamemmettsmithFIRE @UKCoachCalipari !!! He has ruined Kentucky basketball. Since Jon Robic left , Calipari has SUCKED #BBN #WeAreUK @UKMitchBarnhart @KySportsRadio

Trey Alexander @TreyA_11It’s time. Fire John Calipari

Alex Feczko @AlexFeczkoFire Calipari. End of discussion

Chase Fuller @Chase12Fuller3 home losses in a row. FIRE JOHN CALIPARI

cadđŸ‘šđŸŒâ€đŸł @cad_loxxfire calipari

i don’t care what the buyout is

Austyn Miller @AustynMiller12Fire Calipari time ???

The Joan Zone @joangvsCoach Cal is not only losing our historic title of being the winningest college team he’s setting history. We’ve never lost 3 home games in a row. Until now. I don’t even think Cal should be allowed to finish coaching this season, let alone the next. #Kentucky #BBN #FireCalipari

Mitchell (Fire calipari) @cleky_I remember being called crazy the last two previous seasons for wanting calipari fired. Not so crazy now huh?

It’s not clear where Calipari stands after another loss, but the veteran coach will need to turn things around to ensure he has some job security. The Wildcats will look to snap their home-losing streak next week when they take on Ole Miss before hitting the road for a tough game against Auburn.
