John Cena & Roman Reigns’ Likely WrestleMania 41 Opponents Named Amid Retirement & Bloodline Storylines

John Cena has had a distinguished career in the WWE realm for the past few decades. That said, his era in the wrestling ring is rapidly coming to an end. The Cenation leader made a surprise visit at Money in the Bank, Toronto, to bid the world the final goodbye. To the utter shock of the jam-packed Scotiabank Arena, the legend announced that his retirement tour has begun, and he’s only three matches away from his final in-ring appearance which will descend upon the city of Las Vegas at WrestleMania 41.

While fans couldn’t let it settle for the first few minutes, following Cena’s heartfelt speech, they burst out in a heartfelt thank-you chant. However, the emotion quickly took a logical shape, with the IWC wanting to know who Cena’s final opponent would be. While everybody on the roster wants to get a piece of Cena once in their career, only a few are deserving of that chance.

Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes seem to be at the top of the list, as per the recent analysis card. The latest NXT sensation Joe Hendry had always dreamt of fighting John Cena once in his tenure as he grew up idolizing the former World Champion. But as per Chris Van Vliet, none of them would be as fitting as Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton as the last rival of Cena. He also noted that fans are going to get the much-awaited Roman Reigns vs The Rock in the grandest stage of all.

Poll of the dayWho should be John Cena’s final WrestleMania opponent?

During the recent edition of Insight, Vliet noted, “As we look to WrestleMania 41 Las Vegas, it’s going to be John Cena versus somebody. I think it’s John Cena and Randy Orton. I think that’s the match. And then I do think we get Rock and Roman Reigns with one hell of a buildup. Those are my obviously very, very early picks as it’s July right now.”

“But if everybody stays healthy and knocks on wood, that’s the case, I believe that’s what we’re going to be looking at. And if not John Cena, Randy Orton, maybe John Cena, Cody. But I think those are two big matches,” the 41-year-old concluded.

Cena’s rich history of rivalry with the Viper, however, made enough sense of the above assumption.

Why Randy Orton vs John Cena will be a wise choice to go for?Randy Orton has currently been engaged in a Bloodline storyline alongside Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. The trios fought tooth and claw against team Solo Sikoa during the MITB 2024, but couldn’t stand in front of Jacob Fatu’s exceptional vigor. Extending that bad blood last week on the blue brand, the Viper once again received his lesson in the hands of Bloodline. Now, at this point, a match with his classic nemesis, John Cena, might revitalize his momentum.

The Viper and the Champ faced off each other 22 times with the Cenation leader holding an insane 13-7 win-loss record. Therefore, they have a natural familiarity with each other styles of wrestling. Cena ending his run with a match with his long-standing enemy in the WWE foray will add a different flavor to his storied career book.
