John Terry vs Roberto Carlos: What ex-Chelsea captain said to Mikel Obi after star-studded performance

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has hailed John Mikel Obiā€™s performance after their star-studded charity clash at the National Stadium in Riffa, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Super Eagles midfielder, along with other football players, graced the novelty match, which featured a selected team captained by John Terry and another captained by Roberto Carlos.

During the game, the former Stoke City player, who had the chance to score a goal, provided an assist to former Manchester United forward Michael Owen, who tapped in easily.

In response, Mikel Obi commented: ā€œThe feeling of playing with you again, my captain John Terry. You still look solid at the back, old boy.ā€

The clash ended in a 6-6 draw before Team Terry triumphed 4-1 in the shootout, with former Ivorian star Yaya TourƩ netting the decisive penalty.

Michael Owen gave Team Terry an early lead, but ex-France striker David Trezeguet quickly responded with a volley to level the match. Trezeguet then put Team Carlos ahead before John Terry equalised with a stunning lob from outside the box.

A quick-fire goal from social media star Jelani Menzi restored Team Terryā€™s lead, only for Trezeguet to complete his hat-trick, bringing the score to 3-3. Goals from Owen and Jelani put Team Terry in the driving seat with a 5-3 advantage at the break.

After the restart, Luis Nani pulled one back with a brilliant free-kick, but Hussain Ali replied with a powerful strike, making it 6-4. Trezeguet added his fourth in the 76th minute, while Naniā€™s late strike forced a 6-6 draw, sending the game into penalties.

In the shootout, Team Terry held their nerve, with TourƩ sealing the victory with the final spot kick.
