Jordan Hudson isn’t the only WAG shaking things up

•

Bill Belichick and Jordan Hudson hit the red carpet.

Jordan Hudson has been much in the news lately for her role in former New England Patriots turned North Carolina coach Bill Belichick’s life.Ā

While Hudson has drawn some unflattering fire for her role during a ā€œCBS Sunday Morningā€ interview with her boyfriend, she’s just the latest in a long list of wives and girlfriends (i.e., WAGS) that have been a part of football life for some time.Ā

In an era of social media, their roles are now magnified, as each WAG has their own printing press in their phone. That can make for some uncomfortable moments for the players and their team.Ā

But even before the social media era, there were spouses making NFL waves. A few of the most notable.Ā

Brenda WarnerThe wife of former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, she once called a St. Louis radio station to tell them that her husband would be seeking a trade from his Rams team.Ā

Miko GrimesThe wife of Tampa Bay cornerback Brent Grimes made an antisemitic comment on social media aimed at Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. That was only the latest social media grenade from Miko, who also criticized Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill, blasted coaches, and threatened reporters. When the Dolphins cut Brent, team owner Ross told the Palm Beach Post that Miko’s venom was a factor in the decision.

Kelly StaffordThe wife of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matt Stafford drew attention when she told the ā€œOff the Vineā€ podcast that in college, she dated her now-husband’s backup quarterback in order to make him jealous.Ā

Terricka CromartieWife of former New York Jets cornerback and prolific father Antonio Cromartie, she wound up trashing her husband’s team on Twitter. In 2013, she she tweeted of a 49-9 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, ā€œThis Is just embarrassing the whole team failed to show up today.ā€

Those are just some of the WAGs making waves. It’s a sure bet there will be more to come.
