Joseline Hernandez brought the heat to New York City on Feb. 28 as she celebrated the release of her latest single “I Like The Way You Are” at Circo in Times Square.
The self-proclaimed “Puerto Rican Princess” delivered a high-energy performance for hundreds of fans, proving why she remains one of the most captivating TV figures who’s worked her way up from the bottom.
Draped in a show-stopping gown, Hernandez commanded the stage, delivering fan-favorite songs including “Dunchacha,” “Fantasy,” “Dámelo,” “Every Night of the Week,” and others — all produced by her hubby Ballistic Beats. The crowd roared and sang along as she and her Joseline’s Cabaret ladies showcased their signature moves, alluring stage presence, and undeniable sex appeal.

During the event, the fiancée and mother-of-one took a moment to speak with VIBE to reflect on her journey — acknowledging the struggles and doubters she overcame to reach this point in her career. “Well, shout out to my haters,” she said unapologetically. “But I would not be here without my beautiful, sexy husband.”
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, the former Love & Hip-Hop star has been open about the challenges she faced on her way to success, using her story as motivation for others. Not only has Hernandez been transparent about her past relationships and break ups, she’s also been very vocal about kicking her drug habits, declaring to now be sober. She’s even reclaimed the slighted moniker “Cocaline,” which she’s branded as a clap back at her haters.
“I come from the slums of Puerto Rico, and growing up, it was very difficult,” she admitted. “Showing people that you can do it when they tell you that you cannot do it is very important for young Black and Hispanic ladies like myself. I’m Black first and then I’m Puerto Rican. It’s very difficult for us to come from the hood and come from the ghetto — come from nothing — and make it here.”

Transitioning from reality television to music has not been an easy road for the Afro-Latina, who has long fought to be taken seriously as an artist. However, through her hard work and self-growth, she’s learned that “tenacity, working very hard, and not taking no for an answer” will “get you to the next level” — especially when the industry thinks “you’re full of sh*t.”
Despite the skepticism, the “Live Your Best Life (Do It Like It’s Yo Bday)” singer remains steadfast in her artistry. “I’m married to a man that’s been making music for 35 years and I’ve been making music for 15 years, so this is not a game,” she added. “This is what we do, and I think time shows people everything.”
