Josh Allen’s pistachio farm, explained: Location and more to know about Bills QB’s family business
When he’s not leading the Bills deep into the postseason, Josh Allen participates in a unique hobby: farming pistachios.
Last June, the Buffalo quarterback appeared on the first episode of “Like a Farmer Podcast” and detailed his agricultural ambitions, including how he began Allen Family Farms with his father. Allen said they were only growing cotton, cantaloupe, and wheat, but were transitioning into cultivating pistachios at the time.Â
Allen said he wants to plant pistachio trees on 1,000 acres initially with the end goal of expanding that to 1,500. Profluence has listed the quarterback’s nut farm as his best investment, as he stands to make $6.5 million in revenue per year from the venture to supplement his six-year, $258 million contract extension that went into effect last season.
Here’s everything to know about Allen’s pistachio farm, including its location and more about the Bills quarterback’s family business.
Josh Allen pistachio farm locationThe Allen Family Farm is located in Firebaugh, Calif., a rural town of just over 8,000 people 45 minutes west of Fresno. In the state’s Central Valley, it’s situated in a region known for its agricultural productivity. The roughly 18,000 square miles of fertile farmland between the Coast Ranges and Sierra Nevada provides more than half of the fruits, vegetables, and nuts grown in the United States.
Where is Josh Allen from? The 28-year-old was raised in Firebaugh by third-generation farmers on the land he and his dad now tend to. For nearly 50 years the Allen family has owned the same 3,000 acres in Fresno County where the quarterback and his three siblings, sisters Nicala and Makenna and brother Jason, grew up.
Allen attended Firebaugh High School and threw for 5,269 yards, 59 touchdown passes, and only 15 interceptions in two years as the varsity football team’s starting quarterback. He was immensely under-recruited and spent his first year out of high school at Reedley Community College just an hour from Firebaugh before eventually transferring to Wyoming.

Josh Allen’s farming background? In addition to being the Bills’ star quarterback, Allen was also a member of Future Farmers of America in high school. He spent significant time working on the family farm, “digging ditches and hacking away weeds” as he and his brother learned how to take care of the land.Â
According to the Los Angeles Times, Josh and Jason would also set up irrigation for the crops and help pick cotton, which bonded them just as much as their avid participation in every sport imaginable did.
