Joy Behar awkwardly avoided a question about being fired from “The View” in 2013 during Tuesday’s episode of the ABC talk show.

“Did you go through this?” the “Color Purple” actress, 68, asked Behar before Sunny Hostin chimed in saying, “When you got fired?”

“I’m on my fifth act,” the “The Great Gasbag: An A–Z Study Guide to Surviving Trump World” author, 81, replied.

In 2013, Behar — who was one of the original stars when the show first launched in 1997 — was terminated from the talk show.

However, she continued to guest co-host throughout 2014 and 2015 and was later asked to co-host in a more permanent role as ratings began falling and new producers were installed amid Donald Trump’s first presidential run.

An executive producer who pushed for Behar to come back previously explained, “I just knew that we needed to get back into the cultural conversation. And I knew she was going to be the person who could actually do that.

“She’s always been the person who says what the audience is thinking but is afraid to say.”

Though Behar has not offered too many details about her firing, last November, she hinted as to why she was previously let go from the show.

“It just shows you no matter how high your ratings are, if you tick off somebody at the top, they will get rid of you,” she said on “The View” while discussing Tucker Carlson’s firing from Fox News.

“That has happened to me.”

“I was glad to be fired,” she told Time in July 2022, adding that she was “sick of the show at that point for some reason, I don’t even remember why.”
