Judy Page, Veteran Talent Agent, Dies at 76

Judy Page, a talent agent who spent 35 years working for agencies run by Susan Smith and Mitchell K. Stubbs, died Feb. 24 at Kindred Hospital Los Angeles after a brief illness, publicist Richard Hoffman announced. She was 76.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, on June 22, 1948, Page was raised by her father and her aunt. She attended Ohio State University and worked for the state of Ohio for several years before moving to Los Angeles in 1976.

She told her dad that she was living in Beverly Hills, and technically that was true ā€” she was living in her car, parked in the city, for a couple of weeks.

Her first job in the industry was working for publicist Ronni Chasen.

Page joined Warner Bros. in its secretarial pool and landed in the studioā€™s casting department, where she caught the eye of acclaimed casting director Marion Dougherty, who hired her permanently.

After many years at Warners, Page segued to the other side of the desk to become an agent, and she worked for Susan Smith & Associates for 18 years. After that firm closed in September 2001, Page became a vp at Mitchell K. Stubbs and Associates before retiring in 2018.

Survivors include her brother, Sam, and his family; her sister, Sheri, and her family; and her Los Angeles ā€œfamily,ā€ which included Hoffman, Malaika Mason, Sherry Bettis, Mark Armstrong, Mitchell Stubbs, Hal Williams, Penny Johnson Jerald and CCH Pounder, among others.

She was described as ā€œa woman of intelligence, strength and above all else, humor.ā€

A celebration of her life is being planned in Los Angeles on her birthday. Donations in her name can be made to the Motion Picture & Television Fund; The Wasserman Campus; 23388 Mulholland Drive, Woodland Hills, CA 91364.
